Kammerchor Spring Concert
Presented by Concordia University
Location: Chapel of Christ Triumphant, Mequon, WI
Concordia's "chamber choir" is an auditioned mixed voice ensemble of approximately 40 singers, which sings a wide variety of choral literature from the Renaissance to the present, including concert pieces, anthems, spirituals, and hymns. As a touring ensemble, Kammerchor has sung in worship and concert virtually all over the continental USA, several times to Canada, and overseas to locations as varied as Brazil, Great Britain, China, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Appearances range from local churches to tour sites to major on-campus performances, such as the annual Christ the King Celebration, Christmas at Concordia, and the Spring Choral Concert. Kammerchor has provided recorded music for broadcasts of The Lutheran Hour, the radio ministry of the International Lutheran Laymen's League, and for Worship for Shut-Ins. Membership in Kammerchor is not limited to music majors, but includes students with a range of majors and minors. Auditions are held once a year, usually at the beginning of the fall semester. Members are generally expected to participate for the entire school year.
