Winterdances: Égalité! kicks the 2011 Milwaukee dance season into high-gear by offering two striking masterpieces of the 20th century, choreographed by masters of contemporary dance Mark Morris and Alwin Nikolais and performed by UW-Milwaukee dance students. With the support of the National Endowment for the Arts and building on the department's year-long exploration of the theme "Masculine/Feminine," the department will present Morris’ “Canonic 3/4 Studies” and Nikolais’ “Water Studies." The performance will also feature premieres from Ed Burgess, Elizabeth Johnson, and Dani Kuepper.
