Auditions for Live! In Living Color Tour - 2020

Audition Dates:

February 29-March 1, 2020

What We Are Looking For:

Seeking 36 serious performers ages 15-20. 22 Singer/Dancers AND 14 instrumentalists.

What To Bring:

VOCAL: Bring a prepared selection to sing and a copy of the sheet music for the accompanist. It may be any song of your choosing. Please note that it is strongly preferred that you use a live accompanist (piano) for your audition. A professional accompanist will be available. DANCE: A brief group dance combo is taught along with across the floor instructed movement. We will want to see your unique style of movement through a freestyle section. If you are trained in any other dance style (tap, ballet pointe work, tumbling) we may ask you to demonstrate. INSTRUMENTAL: All instrumentalists will be required to play a prepared piece of choice and to sight-read.

Show Description: 
For the last 51 summers, the Kids From Wisconsin (KFW) have toured the Midwest, performing a two-hour Broadway-style revue to standing room only audiences of over 120,000 each summer.
Objectives of our mission is:
1. Showmanship: Show-Case Wisconsin’s youth through a quality, Broadway-style production that is enjoyed by families and people of all ages on a variety of stages.
Performances are scheduled from June through August. The chosen troupe travels nearly 6500 miles, while performing and providing a free hands-on-workshop in the cities they perform.
2. Leadership: Train/develop exceptional performers/leaders to perform to large audiences, often in locations lacking access to quality, family-affordable entertainment and arts workshops.
